MobilityShare = More to Share

CarShare Vermont is a great way to run errands, see friends, get to appointments, or enjoy a day trip with the freedom to come and go on your own schedule. With our MobilityShare rate plan, income-eligible Vermonters get a free CarShare Vermont membership and our lowest driving rates. Gas, electric vehicle charging, and insurance are included. Applicants pay a reduced one-time application fee ($15) and no membership fee (save $150).

Enrollment in the Damage Waiver Program is encouraged for members that do not have rental car insurance.

$7.50/hour + 45¢–55¢/mile

$75/day with 150 included miles per trip + 45¢–55¢/mile after

Membership fee:
$0/year

+ Optional damage waiver:
$6/month/driver or $50/year/driver

One-time application fee:
$15/driver

**Please note: Carrying persons or property for hire (i.e., taxi, Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, or other delivery services) is not a permitted use of our vehicles.

Eligibility for MobilityShare

To qualify for MobilityShare, an applicant must:

Meet all CarShare Vermont eligibility requirements;
Be a Vermont resident; and
Meet at least one of the following:
- 3SquaresVT income guidelines (applicants who are dependents — e.g., most college students — must include parent/guardian income in household income for this determination)
- Residency in housing provided by Champlain Housing Trust, Burlington Housing Authority, Cathedral Square, Winooski Housing Authority, or Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS), or receive other governmental housing assistance (e.g., Section 8)
- Receive federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits
- Receive Reach Up benefits from the State of Vermont
- Referral from a local social services provider (e.g., Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO), Steps to End Domestic Violence, Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS), Connecting Cultures)
