At CarShare Vermont, we’re committed to changing the culture of car dependence because our future depends on it. But we can’t do it alone. We successfully introduced car-sharing to Burlington in 2008 with the goal of becoming a financially self-reliant nonprofit. We’re making great progress toward this goal, while expanding our service to neighboring towns and soon Montpelier. As of 2014, we’re more than 80% self-sufficient, meaning that the revenue we earn covers more than 80% of our total operating expenses, including delivering mission-driven programs like MobilityShare, the Park It! Pledge, and #LetsShare. We rely on support from our community – individuals, businesses, and foundations – to help close the gap so that we can continue to grow and extend our reach. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of whatever amount you can to support our continued success.

In 2014, 86% of our members reported belonging to zero or one-car households, and 46% got rid of a vehicle or opted not to purchase one since joining CarShare Vermont. At the rate our members shed vehicles, we’ve removed 225 from the Burlington streets to date!
With your help, we’ll continue to make our service accessible to anyone who needs it, allow more people and businesses to get around with fewer vehicles, and better the environment. Thank you.
