There’s no need to bring a car to school when you can get a personal key fob that gives you access to a network of new cars on campus and around town. You can get to the mountains, take a friend to the airport, or just load up on groceries for a lot less money than owning a car. Your parents will be happy you’re not driving their car. Best of all, your choice to share will show lots of love for the environment and our community.
Insurance Requirements
All CarShare Vermont applicants under the age of 21 must provide proof that they are insured by an existing auto policy (you parents' policy probably covers you already). This will be your primary coverage until you turn 21, and CarShare Vermont's insurance will be secondary. Students over 21 are automatically covered by our insurance. Please check out our eligibility information and the required consent form.Looking for more information?

As a college or university employee, you already get a free bus pass, but sometimes you need a car during the workday to run errands or get to a meeting far away. And then there are those rare times when your kid gets sick and you need to jet from work unexpectedly. So, just to be safe, you drive your own car to work everyday, pay for a parking permit, and sometimes drive more than you need. Perhaps your family even owns that second car just for those occasional emergencies.
Well, CarShare Vermont provides another option!
Our cars are conveniently parked on campus and around town so that you can get where you need to go without driving your personal car to work. Hop on the bus, carpool, bike or walk to campus, and share a car when you really need one. You’ll be happy you did, and so will the environment.
There are a couple of ways you can join CarShare Vermont and make use of our campus cars (and the rest of our network as well):
Departmental memberships. Sign up your entire department, and get the benefits of a CarShare Vermont Business Membership for your work-related driving. Employees can sign up for a personal membership at the same time for free!
Individual or group memberships. Choose between two convenient membership plans and use the cars anytime you need for your personal use. Think about getting rid of that second car, saving money, and spending a lot less time driving!
