Volunteer with us!

Many of you have offered to get involved in our start-up, and here are just a few ways that you can. If none of the below volunteer opportunities sound very appealing, please don't despair. We're happy to work with you to find a project that best taps into your skills, interest, and goodwill. And if you don't have time to share but would like to help CarShare Vermont get off the ground, we also welcome your financial contributions.

Pod finder: If you’d like a CarShare Vermont pod closer to where you live or work, please help us find one! The City of Burlington is providing us with on-street parking in designated areas, but we’re also looking for off-street parking (including parking lots, driveways, or garages) to help ease the burden of snow removal during winter months. A pod is simply a designated parking space (we'll install a sign) that must be accessible by our members 24/7. Ideally, it will also be centrally located and convenient to as many CarShare Vermont members as possible.

If the best option for a pod in your neighborhood is an on-street parking space, fear not. We can work with you to designate a space for CarShare Vermont by conducting a neighborhood petition to the Public Works Commission. With enough signatures from your neighbors demonstrating support for CarShare Vermont, the City will designate up to two parking spaces (in case we add a car to the pod) exclusively for our vehicles. But we'll need your help getting those signatures! The petition process is also a fun way to get to know your neighbors while helping us with a little outreach. If you'd like to initiate a petition to designate a CarShare Vermont pod in your neighborhood, please contact Annie Bourdon at annie@carsharevt.org.

Painting party: To many of you painting may not sound like a party, but we promise it will be fun. We’re painting our new office and it sure would go faster with a few extra hands. We’ll feed you too. Date: Friday, October 24th, 2PM.

Outreach, outreach, outreach:
Please help us spread the word about CarShare Vermont by:

– Being on call as a volunteer to help table at various events and other opportunities as they arise;
– Hosting a house party for CarShare Vermont;
– Handing out brochures in your neighborhood; and
– Sharing your creative outreach ideas with us!
